Barry has a very methodical, consistent and easily learned method of dog training that both canines and their owners respond well to. Friends, family, and strangers often comment on how well behaved and obedient my 10 month old puppy is, and I owe it to Barry. Classes are professional, yet fun, and results are immediate. Because I went through Barry's training, I have a dog who listens, is well socialized, and I never need to worry about common behavioral problems such as digging, jumping fences or destroying furniture. I look forward to starting my puppy in the advanced class this weekend.
We adopted a very sweet dog from the Humane Society. We were able to train the basics, but had a very difficult time while walking the dog. We were actually trying to find a family to give the dog to because he was so difficult to control on leash. We really loved the dog so we decided to try a trainer. We were referred to On Command Dog Training. Barry evaluated our situation and immediately helped us learn how to deal with our dog's problems. We can now walk our dog without being pullled all over and we are continuing to learn new ways to further train our dog. We are very pleased with On Command Dog Training and will definitely sign up any new dogs we have in the future.
Barry is an excellent dog trainer. His ability to understand and handle dogs is amazing. He instantly recognizes what needs to be done to gain control of the dog and get results when giving commands. His training style makes it easy for owners and dogs alike to cooperate as a team.
Putting my 6 year old Westie in On Command Dog Training was the best thing we ever did. Venessa is a very good dog but she would dart out the door and run in the street if she saw someone or another dog. Well, she doesn't do that anymore. She will sit when she is told and just look at the other person or dog. So you can teach an old dog new tricks! But remember this is training more for the two legged animal and less for the four legged kind. We have to learn to be pack leaders and then the rest is easy with patience and love.
Investing in the time and money for 5 private sessions with Barry and my 6 month old puppy was well worth the time and money. I felt more confident as a dog owner and was amazed at how quickly my dog learned the basic behaviors. What a great feeling to walk your dog and have a stranger compliment how well your dog behaves.
